A fresh take.

When Portland’s favorite sushi spot needed a larger space to accommodate its growing popularity, Woodhull was more than happy to help take it to the next level. The interior build-out of Mr. Tuna took around just four months to complete and is a testament to the client’s clear vision and team collaboration.

Full-service experience.

Working alongside owners Jordan Rubin and Marisa Lewiecki and collaborating with talented designers at Mey & Co., the Woodhull team transformed the 1,400-square-foot space into a vibrant, welcoming eatery. Located at 83 Middle Street, the restaurant features a spacious, open layout anchored by a prominent 15-seat sushi counter. Clean, light tones keep the space bright and minimalist while pops of muted pinks and purples add tonal variety and modern appeal.

Large windows flanking the front of the restaurant provide ample natural light and host additional banquet-style seating with city views. The space is designed to encourage a full-service dining experience, while still accommodating patrons grabbing takeout. In the warmer months, additional outdoor seating will be available.

Leveling up.

This project represents a significant step for Mr. Tuna, moving from a smaller location in the Public Market to this new, permanent home, and Woodhull is proud to have been part of the journey.
