A crafter’s space.
Makers Marsh offers minimalist living for two amidst a wild landscape. The buildings are strategically situated to maximize panoramas of the surrounding water and meadows. The house, situated next to a maker’s barn housing a woodshop and pottery studio, creates a cohesive living space that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding environment.
Elements of nature.
The interior spaces utilize familiar materials—wood, plaster, metal, and glass—meticulously crafted to showcase the quality of craftsmanship alongside natural beauty. The juxtaposition between human-made and natural elements is evident in the textured plaster walls that stand in conversation with the integrated views.
A balanced retreat.
The exteriors of the buildings feature bold, angular lines, a starkness softened by the use of curved walls and ceilings within. This interplay reflects both strength and gentleness, fostering a sense of balance and tranquility throughout.
Tucked away in the woods on the opposite end of the peninsula, the all-wood cottage prioritizes solitude and essential needs. This space, ideal for reading, writing, and quiet contemplation, is a retreat into nature’s embrace.
